Metering is always done at the full aperture by the TTL metering system on the SRT-303. The two pyramidal shapes flanking the needle movement indicate the limit of the exposure reading, and the square box is the needle rest point showing sufficient battery power is available when doing a BC (Battery Check). Aligning the two needles together can be done either by shutter or aperture priority exposure measurement. The straight needle is the aperture opening which corresponds to the aperture setting on the lens, while the balloon end is the shutter speed indicator. The view is supplemented by a direct aperture readout window central on the upper part of the viewfinder screen, the shutter speed scale on the lower part, and the match needle exposure pointers on the right vertical of the viewfinder frame. The viewfinder in the SRT-303 is a Matt-Fresnel-Field focusing screen with a 2.5mm diameter horizontal split-image spot surrounded by a microprism band. With the system, exposure reading was done at full aperture, with the lens wide open, as against doing it with the lens stopped down, while looking through a viewfinder which is now dimmed.

What sets the SRT series apart from the rest of the SLR camera manufacturers was the introduction of the open aperture TTL (Through the Lens) metering. The SRT series was in production from 1966 to 1980. Other models of the series include the SR-M, which is a motorized model, the SC/MC, and MC-II/SC-II which was sold as in-house models by department stores. Budget models for the series include the SRT-100, SRT-200, SRT-100b, and SRT-100x. The general model SRT-101 (1966), which was the original model for the series, continued to be sold alongside the SRT-303 and was later updated to SRT-201, SRT-101b, SR101, and SR101S. Ich möchte gerne meine Videos etwas aktualisieren und verbessern! Hier meine SRT303 1973-80 ? Analog Camera Review: Minolta SRT 303 Voll ANALOG! Voll Mechanisch! The model was marketed as the SRT-102 in the USA and Canada, and SRT-Super in Japan, later updated to SRT-202, SRT-303b, SR505, and SR505S. Looking at its development, the SRT-303 was launched in 1973 as the premium flagship model of the SRT series. Fitted with an MC Rokkor PF 50mm F1.7 lens, the SRT-303 came with its own camera case which is almost in tatters. It's something inside the camera that's faulty. The camera was a rather splendid-looking black-bodied SRT-303, looking regal in a camera bag that has been its home for the life it was with the previous owner.

Plus this is a new cartridge and Ive only had it for a week. *Ive ruled out that it's a battery problem since before today the LCD screen turned on and the shutter still worked. To me it sounds like the wires in the cameras that work the camera noises and the flash are busted. If i can get to it I might be able to fix the sound and the flash. I think this part might also be connected to the flash. When it is sounding I can hear it going off from inside the camera that's why i have to break it apart. I tried opening the camera today and nothing turned on not the LCD screen, not the flash, nada! Instead it released this high electronic sound like a fire engine or a computer when it's loading.

The results are random: sometimes it will stay on and sometimes not. I've tried different things: opening the camera slowly, tapping the camera lightly, and opening the camera in dark and extreme light places. It's frustrating because if the flash light doesn't charge, and the green light doesn't stay on, I can't get any of the functions buttons on the LCD screen to work. So far, Ive been able to fix them all apart from one - the flash!Įvery time i turn on the camera the flash light flickers off. I've owned this camera for a few months now, and have had many complications with it.
